Privacy Policy

The short version. ViewPin reads your screen so it can show part of it back to you. It never records, stores, or transmits what it sees. The app makes exactly one kind of network request in its entire lifetime: checking whether your licence key is valid.
What the app does with your screen
ViewPin captures the region you select using Apple’s ScreenCaptureKit and draws it into a floating window. Those frames travel from the system capture API to your display and are then discarded.
- No frame is written to disk.
- No frame is uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any service, including ours.
- No text, image, or content is read, indexed, analysed, or inferred from.
- There is no screenshot history and no recording feature.
macOS asks you for Screen Recording permission because that is the permission governing reading the screen at all. Granting it does not mean ViewPin records anything.

All of it stays on your Mac. Deleting the app and its preferences removes it.
The only network requests ViewPin makes
When you activate or when your licence is re-checked, ViewPin contacts Dodo Payments and sends:
- your licence key;
- the activation identifier issued for this Mac;
- a device name, which is your Mac’s name as you set it in System Settings (for example “Himanshu’s MacBook Pro · ViewPin”), so you can tell your activations apart.
Nothing else is sent. No usage data, no diagnostics, no crash reports, no identifiers, and nothing whatsoever about what is on your screen. The free tier never makes a network request at all.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record. They collect your payment and billing details directly; we never see or store your card information. Their handling of that data is covered by Dodo Payments’ privacy policy.
What we receive from them is limited to what is needed to support you: your email address, and the fact that a purchase was made.
This website
This site runs no analytics, sets no cookies, and embeds no third-party trackers, fonts, or scripts. Your visit is not logged beyond whatever standard request logs our host keeps.
Children
ViewPin is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
Because we hold almost nothing, most data requests resolve quickly. To ask what we hold about you, or to have your purchase record deleted, email support@getviewpin.com. Note that deleting a purchase record also removes our ability to reissue your licence key.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and the previous version is noted in the release notes. We will not quietly start collecting something.
